As a follow-up to my July 02 "Notice 18" email regarding the "shipping bottleneck" caused by motor vehicles caught in a quarantine traffic jam in Australian ports, see the following.
a. MOL has now named July's Mid-Month (MM) vessel the COMET ACE (or sub), one of the smallest vessels in their fleet. Loading resumes in Kobe starting July 25, with Kisarazu being the last loading port before departing to NZ on July 27, with the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) in Auckland on August 10.
b. MOL End of Month (EM) vessel has now been named with the "Bravery Ace" loading to start in Kobe on July 28, only five days after the COMET ACE loads, with Kisarazu being the last loading port before departing to NZ on August 01. The ETA into Auckland is August 19.
c. Services from Auckland onto Wellington, Nelson, and Lyttleton schedules appear unchanged, given the current ETA of MM and EM vessels eight to nine days apart.
d. August MM and EM vessels have yet to be named.
e. The coordination of MPI "Pre-Shipping Inspection (PSI)," given the 10-day cut-off requirement established by MPI, continues to be disruptive, which will only be exasperated when Heat Treatment resumes in September.
a. Jet Logistics Japan (JLJ) is a professional Freight forwarder and cargo consolidator with expertise in vanning containers for the past 20 years.
b. Four cars stowage is now underway, allowing a minimum of eight forty-foot containers to be loaded daily or , giving us a wider range of larger vehicle types that we can use so that are shipped, totaling a maximum number of
c. Kobe container stages and ramps are now modified, with both forklifts and equipment delivered, allowing three containers to be stowed simultaneously.
d. Kisarazu stages and ramp modifications are in progress, with other forklifts and equipment to be delivered this coming week.
e. The negotiations with our "End-To-End (E2E)" service providers have been ongoing with partial success over this past week. I arrive in Auckland on Tuesday, July 11, to meet with the Jet logistics agent, stevedores in charge of devanning at Auckland and Lyttleton port, MPI officers, and transporter and drayage companies to reach agreements on better rates.
f. Container lines with weekly sailings and 30 days delivery time to Auckland Port, considering the bi-weekly sailings of RORO vessels, allows I¡C to guarantee loading on either a RORO or Container within 30 days of purchasing and delivery 30 days from shipping or a combined delivery time of 40 to 60 days from the day you purchase your vehicle from IBC.
a. Effective from July's loaders, all Container Surcharges have been removed and replaced with a "Temporary General Rate Increase (TGRI)."
b. A "(TGRI)" of will apply for all units shipped from July 01, regardless of whether they are shipped RORO or Container.
To assist our customers in Offsetting the TGRI charges, IBC has negotiated with our service provider Jet Logistics to reduce their standard rates for the below four PSI services.
A. 360 frame surround and Sound Bite services.
Tariff | JPY 15,000 reduced to JPY 7,500/unit |
B. Electronic 3D Measuring (E3M) services.
Tariff | JPY 15,000 reduced to JPY 7,500/unit |
C. Power Station services. (EV & Hybrid battery swap outs, language conversion services)
Tariff rates | 20% reduction off tariff |
D. MaxCare Services. | |
Tariff rates | 20% reduction off tariff |
We are now moving into week 19 or month four since the quarantine issue caused by snails being found on board a vessel discharging cargo in the Port of Melbourne, resulting in over 50 car carriers to anchor offshore, waiting for Australian quarantine services to clear each boat before the car carriers discharged her cargo and rotated back into service.
Being able to ship within 30 days of you purchasing your vehicles from IBC with certainty has allowed us at IBC to fully restore buying and buy trip services using both RORO vessels with biweekly sailings as our "Preferred Shipping Option (PSO)" and Containers with weekly sailings as our "Adjustable Shipping Option (ASO)" allows us to deliver your vehicles with certainty within six to eight weeks of you purchasing them from IBC.
Negotiations over this past week with our "End to End (E2E)" service providers have been partially successful, with further talks to continue when I arrive in NZ Tuesday, July 11. As our negotiations improve with our E2E service providers, we will immediately notify you of any changes to the TGRI, with the end goal being to remove all TGRI rates being that container delivery costs have negotiated down to that equal to RORO rates.
We are in this together, and until we can remove the "TGRI" rates, 360FS, Soundbite, and E3M tariffs will be reduced by 50%.
PowerStation and MaxCare pre-shipping service rates are reduced by 20%.
These discounted rates will apply only as long as the "TGRI" remains in place.
I am incredibly proud of all the I¡Cs and Jet Logistics staff and the "E2D" service providers who have worked tirelessly with us to solve this bottleneck problem, allowing us to fully restore all buying and buying trip services from July 01.
My weekly notices will only be sent when there is a change to the "TGRI" rates and if or when RORO services are fully restored, allowing us to suspend using containers as our "Adjustable Shipping Options (ASO)."

Kindest Regards
